Often a better approach is to develop relationships with other sites that are already in the search engines, and have their sites link to your web site. When the Search Engine spiders (terminology used for the Search Engine program that makes its way through the Web and indexes Web pages) load their pages, they will discover your site. This method of entering your site in the search engines will produce better placement.

Besides the content (which is the MOST important component), the links that bring viewers to your page must also be developed with search engines in mind. The text in your links must use your important keywords.
