Marketing
Your Web Site
Marketing your web site is the most important and most difficult
step in making your web site successful.
Many business owners believe that if they build it, customers
will come. If you are lucky that will happen - but more often
than not, it takes more than luck!
When we build your web site, we build it to the best standards
available so that people on the Internet can find your site.
But if you are competing with 10,000 (or more) other sites
trying to sell the same product, then you may be lost in the
noise. The trick is to find a niche where you can successfully
compete, and then work to be found in that specific niche.
Keywords
and Meta Tags on your Web pages |
| |
There are a variety of tags not displayed on each of
your web pages that can affect how your site is displayed
by search engines. These tags are the Meta Tags' Keywords,
Description, and Title.
To have the greatest effect in positioning your site
on the search engines, every page on your site needs
to have different keywords, descriptions, and titles.
The words used in the meta tags also need to be repeated
in your content.
Doing it right is time-consuming but will really pay
off. Utilizing specialized tools, we can help you determine
what terms would attract search engines to your site,
and will help you build pages that rank well on those
terms.

Building
All Your Pages for Search Engines |
| |
Search engines have a fancy way to determine what page
is relevant to a particular query. The important concept
in that sentence is RELEVANT.
Relevancy is determined by a complicated formula based
on factors such as:
- The number of times the term appears on the page
- Where the term appears on the page
- The number of words on the page
- If links exist on the site that bring you to this
page
- Links on other sites that bring you to this page
A general rule of thumb is that a page cannot be relevant
to all of your terms. If you increase the relevancy
of one term on the page, you will then decrease the
relevancy of all the other terms on that page.
To improve your site’s searchability, you may
want to build (or have built) additional pages that
are designed to be relevant to particular search terms.
Although this can be time-consuming, increasing term-relevancy
on a number of pages can be highly effective.

Send
This Page to a Friend |
| |
This two-fold marketing technique allows viewers to easily send information
about your web site and products to their friends who will be interested, and
allows you to collect the addresses of the recipients and senders for future
use.
* You need to be careful how you use the “send a page to a friend”
information, or you will be guilty of spamming people.

Special
Offers and Discount Codes |
| |
The purpose of special offers is two-fold:
- Entice people to purchase your product because of
a reduced price (or free gift)
- Allow you to learn where your customers found out
about your products or services
To take advantage of these points, you must make sure
that every place you publish your special offers uses
a different discount code or offer code. With this different
code you can track where people got the code, so then
you know what marketing is working and what is not.
