E-Commerce is the ability of a web site to display information
about products that can then be ordered online.
There are many flavors of e-commerce. The simplest
have static product pages that allow the customer to
e-mail their order to the store. More advanced systems
allow the customer to drill down (click) through a series
of product categories (or to perform a search) for a
desired product, then place the order online using a
shopping cart system with built-in credit card processing.
